The Coalition was formed on 23 January 2010 at a Caucus to which all known Tea Party groups were invited to send delegates. Founding documents were debated, several were ratified, and nine members of the Coalition Steering Committee were nominated and elected.
Purpose: The Coalition focuses on creating awareness of issues through collaborative educational and organizational initiatives. The Coalition will seek to Educate, Motivate, and Activate concerned citizens as well as grow the membership of Tea Party groups throughout Tennessee. The Coalition provides numerous benefits to member groups, enabling each group to become more successful and for the Tea Party Movement to rapidly grow in strength and numbers.
